In each edition of The Line we will be spotlighting specific features and resources that are available to our customers. Today, we are highlighting our Customer Forum.
Through the Customer Forum, our customers now have a resource for finding information on how our customers are taking advantage of the products and services offered by Jumpline.com. In January 2007 we opened up the forum for all of our customers, and since that time we have seen the traffic to this website grow and we are starting to see more and more of our customers taking advantage of this great support/resource alternative.
In addition to finding out how other customers are using our products and services, the forum is a great place to showcase your websites to get feedback from other like minded Jumpline customers.

In this edition of TheLine, we wanted to focus on the latest trend in web design and programming - AJAX. We have compiled our favorite resources that will help simplify adding interactivity and new features to your websites.
Ajax, or AJAX, is a web development technique used for creating interactive web applications. The intent is to make web pages feel more responsive by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes, so that the entire web page does not have to be reloaded each time the user requests a change. This is intended to increase the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality, and usability.
The name is an acronym standing for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. Ajax is asynchronous in that loading does not interfere with normal page loading. JavaScript is the programming language in which Ajax function calls are made. Data retrieved using the technique is commonly formatted using XML, as reflected in the naming of the XMLHttpRequest object from which Ajax is derived. continue reading...

Posted by Dan Farber & Larry Dignan | ZDnNet
Don Reisinger notes that depending on what you count as a virus, it may actually be the 30th anniversary of the virus. I think it’s fair to say that it’s the 25th anniversary of viruses on PCs and leave it at that. For some virus history, be sure to check out VirusList’s history of malicious programs. Click through to the years (like the early 80s) to see the details. Also, Wikipedia has a timeline of notable viruses and worms. continue reading...
