Welcome to The Line! When I first sat down to write this letter, I thought about what I wanted to say, went through our update list from last year, reviewed our plans for 2007, had a Red Bull, looked at the update list again and started writing. After getting going I started to get into my groove, then I had a flashback to when I first started with the company and my thoughts wandered. Did you know that Jumpline.com has been around for 10 years? Wow, sometimes it feels like I just started with the company, where has the time gone? And to say that web hosting technology (or technology in general) has changed over that time would be about as big of an understatement as can be made!

Looking back on my time with the company, yes I have been here for quite a long time, I started to think about everything I have seen along the way. From the introduction of the control panel (about 1998), to the steady stream of FrontPage users, to the people who absolutely had to have a counter on their website, the memories just keep flowing. Did you know that when Jumpline.com started you were still using either Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 on your personal computer, now that was a long time ago! Back in the day the premium hardware in use was more comparable to today’s cell phones than to today’s servers, remember the 300mhz server with 256 MB RAM and 9 GB harddrive. Things have changed, today the standard for web hosting is more inline with this, a 2x Dual Core 3 ghz (essentially 12 ghz) server with 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB harddrive.

Today, as we continue to build toward the future we now benefit from resources that weren’t available when the company started back in 1997. We have hardware that is getting better by the day, we have access to some of the most incredible software applications imaginable and we have a team of people who have been with us through the thick and thin and who truly love what they do. Today, we are proud to be a team of people who are working to make your online experiences as great as they have been for us over the past 10 years.

Building on the technologies that are now available, the people at Jumpline.com have been committed to doing as much for our customers as possible. From the addition of key features and web applications, to the continual updates to our internal management utilities, our team is more committed than ever to providing the most for our customers. As this new year continues we will begin pushing out a number of changes, including updates to our current offerings and also the introduction of many new features and services for all of our current and future customers.
